About the event
The purpose of this session is to deep the dialogue specific to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and reproductive justice beyond screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
This session will bring together reproductive justice advocates, clinicians, public health practitioners and people with lived experiences to discuss new ideas consistent with reproductive justice that include healthy sexuality in the context of STIs, consent, pleasure, disclosures, and language. This interactive workshop will include case-studies, role-playing, and simulation to assist participants to better support people who experiences STIs in their lifetime.
This workshop will be broken into 3 distinct sections: Didactic information, Practice (Simulations, Case-Studies, Role-playing), and Debrief and Visioning. Workshop providers include fellows of the National Birth Equity Collaborative, Board Members and Staff of the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, and Members of the Sexuality, Adolescent, and other taskforces of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Section of the American Public Health Association.
